       1. The surface of the foundation soil should be free of mud, water, stones, tree roots, debris and other substances that can damage the GCL or the upper layer of geosynthetics.

       2. The surface of the foundation soil must be flat and even, and the slope and elevation should be within the allowable error range specified in the relevant earthwork technical specifications. The quality of the base surface should meet the design requirements: the bottom surface of the foundation pit, the slope surface and its slope ratio, the solid laid on the side slope, and the treatment of the junction between the slope surface and the bottom surface should all strictly meet the design requirements. The base surface should facilitate the laying of GCL, HDPE geomembrane and geotextile. The base surface should be dry, compacted, smooth, without cracks, without obvious spikes, depressions, and there should be no roots, rubble, stones, steel heads, glass chips within a vertical depth of 25mm. The flatness should be changed gently within the allowable range, the slope is uniform, the slope is consistent, and meets the design requirements of the drawings. The yin and yang corners on the base surface should have a smooth transition, and the radius should not be less than 0.5 meters.

       3. Before laying the GCL, whether the upper surface of the foundation of the soil cushion GCL should be laid meets the design requirements, and agree that the foundation soil surface is allowed to be laid with the GCL.
